Gallipoli has 10 classes, each with two kits. This ranking reads the mechanics BlackMill published in the class and squad blogs and asks one question: how much does this class change the outcome of an Expedition sector? It is a structural reading, not a win-rate table — nobody has statistics six days after launch, and this page will say so until real data exists.

Officer
Command — both factions
The only class that can call in off-map artillery, and since Gallipoli it can do so from anywhere on the map rather than a fixed position. A Creeping Barrage walks ahead of an attacking push and leaves a dust screen behind it; an SOS Barrage is a donut-shaped shell ring you drop on your own defensive position. Call-in options are decided by which squad type the Officer leads. Level 20 perk raises the points-bonus area effect by 100%.
Stretcher Bearer
Medic — both factions
Gallipoli's downed state means a hit to a limb leaves you crawling instead of dead, so every downed teammate is a body the enemy has to re-kill and you can restore. Stretcher Bearers carry syringes and medical crates, move faster holding a syringe, and let squad members spawn on them. One kit lets teammates heal from your backpack, the other trades that for faster heals and extra crates.

Heavy Machine Gunner
Area denial — both factions
Takes reduced suppression while on an HMG, can build HMG positions almost anywhere, and acts as a spawn point for the squad. That combination is what turns a captured sector into a held one. The trade is total: an emplaced HMG is a stationary target and snipers are built to punish it. First kit adds sandbags and on-gun bonuses; second cuts build time and cooldown so you can reposition.
Ammo Bearer
Sustain — both factions
Ammo counts are set per kit in Gallipoli, so a stalled push is often an ammo problem rather than a skill problem. The Ammo Bearer moves faster while carrying an ammo box and doubles as a squad spawn point. Offensive kit lets teammates resupply straight from your backpack; defensive kit places extra ammo crates for a dug-in position.
Engineer
Construction and sabotage — both factions
Construction Training speeds up both building and sabotage, which decides how fast barbed wire goes up or comes down in front of an objective. The Ottoman example BlackMill published shows the split clearly: the Saboteur Kit is light, spots nearby enemy equipment automatically and takes a pistol as its primary, while Frontline Builder carries sandbags, an extra construction marker and rifles.

Rifleman
Line infantry — both factions
The baseline class returning from Isonzo, rebuilt around Gallipoli's new gunplay: bullet travel time, drop at range and stamina-linked sway. No utility to carry the squad, but no dependency on anyone either — the class you take when the squad already has its specialists filled.
Bomber
Trench clearing — both factions
Carries extra grenades and takes reduced stun from them, which matters in a game where suppression escalates into a full panic state. Specialised to the point of fragility: one kit gives more grenades and speed but restricts you to a melee weapon, the other adds a second grenade slot so you can mix types. Level 20 cuts stun received by 75%, unlocked by stunning 20 enemies.
Light Machine Gunner
Suppression — British Empire only
The one class that is not mirrored between the two factions: BlackMill states Light Machine Gunners are exclusive to the British Empire. Fills the Assault-style mobile suppression role. If you are learning the Ottoman side, this slot simply does not exist for you, which is worth knowing before you build a loadout plan around it.

Spotter
Intel — both factions
The renamed Mountaineer from Isonzo. Marking enemies only converts into wins if the squad acts on the marks, which makes this the class most dependent on the people around you. Strong inside a Scouting squad whose call-ins are built around recon; thin in a random lobby.
Sniper
Long range — both factions
Renamed from Marksman. Genuinely effective against emplaced HMGs and Officers, and Gallipoli's ballistics rework — bullet drop and travel time at maximum effective range — gives the role more depth than in Isonzo. Ranked low only against the mode's scoring: Expedition is won by holding sectors, and a sniper 200 metres back is not standing on one.

then read all 10 classes in full — each one has two kits, and the kit
changes your weight, ammo count and weapon options as much as the class does. How your squad
type shapes what an Officer can call in matters just as
much as where a class sits on this list.
